A complete and misshapen post-Medieval sheet silver closed thimble (1750-1900).
This thimble has been machine-made.
The walls are mainly covered with 24 horizontal lines of regularly spaced circular indentations. The rim appears to have been pressed or knurled and consists of two parallel circumferential shallow grooves. Between the grooves vertical impressions have a double-comb appearance. The apex has fine concentric grooves and ridges which are probably related to lathe work.
