A complete and misshapen post-Medieval sheet silver closed thimble (1750-1900).

This thimble has been machine-made.

The rim appears to have been pressed or knurled and consists of two parallel circumferential shallow grooves. Between the grooves vertical impressions have a double-comb appearance. The apex has fine concentric grooves and ridges which are probably related to lathe work.
