BROOCH

Unique ID: SUR-003C34

Object type certainty: Certain

A Colchester-type brooch, complete save for the pin and spring and part of the catchplate. Each of the wings has a pair of mouldings which are decorated with narrow encircling grooves. The bow has a prominent central ridge with a deep groove along its length. The catchplate has three cutout shapes which leave a narrow internal framework. Corrosion suggests that the spring and pin were of iron.
