A complete rectangular copper-alloy strap end of Medieval date.
It is formed from a single flat sheet of copper-alloy folded widthways at the base to create a strap end with rectangular plates of equal length. The attachment end contains a separate copper-alloy circular rivet with a flattened round head.
This strap end measures 36.76mm in length, 9.53mm in width, 2.14mm in thickness, 2.14 in weight.
There is a similar example from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, pp. 128, no. 594).
