An incomplete Post Medieval (AD c.1500-c.1620) lead cloth seal, missing the perforated disc (disc 2) and the connecting strip. It measures 18.0mm in diameter and 3.7mm thick. It weighs 3.30g.
The surviving disc (disc 1) has a stylised thistle, pineapple or pinecone in relief, while the squashed central plug or rivet on the other side possibly has part of a letter A. If this is the case, the cloth seal is from Augsburg, Germany. cf. Saunders, P. (ed.), 2001, Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum Medieval Catalogue: Part 3, p.70, Fig.26, nos 143-154.
