Copper-alloy incomplete probable mount, possibly of Roman date. It consists of a long, narrow strip of metal, slightly curved in profile, with a break at each end. The outer face is decorated with two pairs of parallel longitudinal grooves, each with small transverse grooves inbetween. Towards one end, slightly off-centre, is a small circular hole. The object may have functioned as a decorative furniture mount or similar. It has a bright green, smooth patina.
