Copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4.e, flat wing ends type, West Midlands). Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that would have held the pin axis bar, there is a loop on the top of the head for the external cord. Beaded borders decorate the ends of the wings and a crest with horizontal striations decorate the front to the head. The lower part of the bow is missing resulting in the loss of the catch plate.
