Copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4, flat wing ends type), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.d. Plate 47. It has rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that would have held the pin axis bar. a loop at the top of the head would have held the spring external cord. On both sides a moulding is present at the junction between the bow and the wings. Beaded borders decorate the ends of the wings and a crest with horizontal striations decorate the front to the head. the lower part of the bow is missing resulting in the loss of the catch pate. Date 80-120 AD.
