An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman disc brooch dating to the second century AD. The brooch is circular in plan and is decorated with two fields of coloured enamel. The outer concentric field has the remains of a dark (now black) enamel. The centre of the brooch has raised cell edges that form an curved, open-armed cross. Each cell contains red enamel. In the centre is a raised circular disc of copper alloy. The outer edges of the brooch are damaged and mostly missing. The reverse of the brooch retains the double-lugs for the pin and part of the catchplate. A similar brooch is illustrated by Hattatt (2007:347) no. 1137.
