An incomplete Medieval (c.1270-1340) copper alloy armorial shield-shaped horse harness pendant displaying the arms of England before 1340, with a (broken and damaged) loop turned through 90degrees and remains of a decaying enamel with traces of gilding. It measures 30.19mm in length, 18.01mm in width, 8.47mm in depth and weighs 4.77g. The shield is 22.52mm tall and 2.41mm thick. The loop is slightly offset and distorted.
Blazon: Gules three lions passant guardant (probably Or).
The use of enamel suggests a date from c.1270.
