A distorted, worn and corroded copper alloy Medieval harness pendant suspension mount which consists of a horizontally aligned bar of triangular section. At either end of this bar is a narrow transverse ridge which gives way to a perforated lobe on one side arm with a horizontal knop protruding from the end. The arm is bent through nearly 90 degrees. The other arm is broken through the corresponding hole. The hanger element extends downwards at 90 degrees from the centre of the underside. It has two arms which are joined by a horizontal iron axis bar. The axis bar passes through the two sides to provide a mounting for a pendant now lost in anquity.
The condition is good with a red- brown eroded surface.
The object would measure approximately 50.32mm wide if undistorted and if the missing loop was intact. It is 16.98mm high and 4.75mm thick at the axis. The weight is 6.34 grammes.
A similar example c.f BH-AC4764 suggests a date range of 13th to early 14th century.
