A cast copper alloy hooked section from a post-medieval hook and eye clasp. The hooked section has a trefoil shaped plate with two round and one lozenge-shaped aperture in the centre of the plate. Above this is a rounded attachment knop with rivet hole. Below the centre of the plate is another trefoil-shaped bar that narrows into the hook. A second rivet hole is located within this section. A similar example is illustrated in Read (2008:223), no. 802, where he suggests it is a fitting for a sword belt, baldrick or horse harness (ibid.). c. 16th - 17th century AD.
