A lead incomplete Roman steelyard weight. Biconical in shape, half of this steeyard weight is missing due to old breaks. It measures 36.3mm in length and 34.6mm in width. Through the centre of this weight there is an iron bar, at one end of the weight it projects and it is likely to have originally have formed at loop. There is likely to have been two loops originally; one loop would have been for suspension and the other one to suspend the object being weighed. Similar steelyard weights have been found on other Roman sites within Suffolk and elsewhere around the country.
