An incomplete copper alloy Iron Age La Tene III type brooch dating to AD 20-100. The brooch is bent and damaged, the pin and catchplate are missing. The brooch measures 43.5mm in length, 7.2mm maximum width (across the wings), 0.55mm minimum width (foot) and weighs 1.75 grams.
The bow is long and slender (3.73mm wide) and narrows to a point. At the top of the brooch, the bow narrows to create a wire which is wound only twice round the top and then starts to extend down the back of the brooch to form the pin but is broken.
