An incomplete copper alloy dress hook of post-medieval date. The dress hook is of Reads Class E, Type 3 being circular in plan. The main plate is convex with moulded relief decoration consisting of a central pellet enclosed by a circle of six-pellets, thus resembling a six-petalled flower. A trapezoidal attachment loop projects from one edge and a D-sectioned hook extends from the opposite edge curving to terminate in a worn break.
The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. The dress hook is 28.7mm long, 12.3mm wide, 4mm thick and weighs 2g.
A similar example is illustrated in Read, p.96, no.349 and is dated to the early post-medieval period.
