A post-Medieval copper-alloy strap mount.
The flat-sectioned mount takes the form of a latin cross, the central column of which is comprised of (from top to bottom) a suboval lobe, two moulded flower heads and a pointed-oval leaf. A lobe decorated with a bifurcating swirl projects horizontally outwards on either side of the uppermost flower head, creating the two cross arms. The reverse has two circular-sectioned rivets, one located above the other. Traces of gilding can be seen on the upper surface of the mount.
