A copper alloy Iron Age strip bow brooch dating to AD 25-75. The pin of the brooch is missing. The top of the bow curls back to form a bar at the top for the pin. The front of the bow is straight and ends squarely at the bottom (a fragment if missing from the bottom edge). The bow is decorated with two double lines which narrow towards the bottom and between each of the double lines there is a row of dots. The catchplate extends back from the loop part of the bow. Cf Hattatt (1989) A Visual Catalogue of Richard Hattatt's Ancient Brooches p319 no 40.
