An incomplete copper-alloy circular vessel mount of Roman date. It is missing the top edge due to old breaks, now worn.
It is D-shaped in section with a concave back face. At the base of the front face is a forwards projecting globular knob. This is circular in form with a slightly flattened front face. The front face is decorated with a central longitudinal groove.
This vessel mount measures 34.46mm in length, 30.81mm in diameter, 8.97mm in diameter at the knob, 4.05mm in thickness, 21.04g in weight.
There is a similar example recorded on the PAS database (SF-F655C0).
