A copper-alloy plate brooch fragment of Roman date. Only the lug and part of the plate survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
It is flat and sub-triangular in form with a rounded top and pointed bottom. The front face is undecorated and the edges of the plate are defined by a pair of U-shaped notches. On the back face is an integral rectangular lug with a central circular hole.
This brooch measures 19.87mm in length, 10.61mm in width, 2.34mm in thickness, 2.99g in weight.
