An incomplete copper-alloy Roman bow brooch probably of Colchester derivative with double pierced lug. Only the foot of the bow and part of the catch plate survive, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
The bow is D-shaped in section with a plain front face. At the base of the bow is an integrally cast catch plate that is triangular in form with triangular and circular openwork decoration and a rectangular pin groove.
This brooch measures 28.06mm in length, 3.11mm in width, 1.80mm in thickness, 1.71g in weight.
There is similar example from Hacheston (Blagg et al, 2004, pp. 96, no. 91).
