Post-medieval copper alloy hooked mount from a sword belt, cast with an incomplete sheet backplate. Very similar to Read 2008, no. 813, but with a more pronounced transverse rib above the hook. A triple-looped link engaged with the hook is close to ibid. no. 816 but with an engraved saltire on both faces. A hole through the upper terminal contains the remains of an iron rivet. Above the hook an integral rivet secures the backplate. Length excluding link 38mm. Width 15mm. Link 16.5 x 15.5mm. 17th century.
