A Post-Medieval copper alloy incomplete book clasp and attached binding strip. The strip consists on a long piece of metal folded in two. The remains of leather can still be seen in the gap, confirming that the strip was probably attached to the edge of a book cover. In the centre is a hinge from which a clasp extends. This has notched edges and is pierced with a small circular hole at the end, which would have met the second part of the clasp on the other side of the book. Its construction suggests a Post-Medieval date
