A complete copper-alloy cross crosslet mount or badge of Post-Medieval date.
It is formed from a flat sheet of copper-alloy and the edges are bent towards the reverse creating a concave back face. The front face has a border composed of a single incised/engraved groove that traces the exterior edge of the badge. There are seemingly no other traces of decoration or any means for attachment of the object.
This mount measures 19.12mm in length, 19.12mm in width, 1.09mm in thickness, 0.67g in weight.
Examples of similar crosses are noted in Mitchiner (1986: nos. 939-942) and associated by him with the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre. Examples recorded through the PAS scheme and identified by Geoff Egan (PAS Finds Advisor) (see for example LON-F3FA22, LON-FE9982; cf HAMP-3DA2B7, HAMP-675EE6, SF-222AD1) are suggested to be Post-Medieval in date and while depicting the Arms of Jerusalem not necessarily associated with a more specific order, perhaps simply serving as pilgrim souvenirs.
