A copper-alloy Langton Down type brooch, dating from the early to mid 1st century AD.
The spring cylinder is heavily damaged, but part of the pin and three coils of the spring remain, albeit detached from the brooch. The bow is of triangular section and tapers from the top to the point of the break.
