A late Saxon copper alloy strap end, Thomas type A. The strap-end is tongue-shaped and has two rivet holes at the bifurcated attachment-end. The terminal is in the form of an animal head; it is much worn, however, and only two large oval ears are visible. The body is lozengiform and contains a worm nielloed panel perhaps depicting a beast.
