An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch, with only the lower bow and catchplate remaining, dating to AD 50-200. The brooch measures 33.21mm in length, 7.09mm at its widest, and 2.52mm at its thickest. It weighs 3.11g.
The bow is C-shaped in cross-section, with a bifaced obverse and a concave reverse. It begins with an old break before two horizontally raised ridges, and then tapers down in width to a projectile foot 3.75mm wide. The catchplate is attached to the left side of the reverse and folds outwards in a hook for the pin. It has a small crack at the base and is about 0.79mm thick.
