Roman copper alloy zoomorphic brooch, in the form of a duck, with a three dimensional neck and head and a hollow body. The head has ring-and-dots for eyes, a hollow body with open wings (one damaged) and enamelled panels on the wings representing feathers with remains of red and and possibly blue enamel, and the stump of a flat-sectioned tail. There are twin lugs with a fragment of the copper alloy pin at the tail end and a broken catch-plate at the other end of the hollow reverse. Surviving length 29mm. Width 25mm. Height 17mm. Cf. Hattatt, no.622. 2nd century AD.
