A lead alloy musket ball of Post Medieval date, about AD 1600 - 1700. It is spherical and the casting seam is not visible. Grooves and depressions on the surface are probably post depositional though patinated. The ball has a well developed yellow cream patina. The weight suggests it was for use in a musket (Harding 2012, Lead Shot of the English Civil War, page 31). 17.4mm diameter, 30.43g.
