A lead alloy musket ball of Post Medieval date, about AD 1600 - 1700. It is sub-spherical and the casting seam is visible but has been smoothed. The sprue was cut with nippers leaving two facets (Harding, plate 9). The ball has a well developed grey patina. The weight suggests it was for use in a carbine (Harding 2012, Lead Shot of the English Civil War, page 31). 15.2mm diameter, 19.06g.
