A cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame of medieval to early post-Medieval date, c. 1350-1720.
A central axis bar (bent in antiquity) divides the sub-circular frame into two D-shaped sides. The frame is of trapezoidal cross section, but the axis bar is of triangular cross section. The pin is missing. The buckle frame has a degraded olive green patina. Reference: Ross Whitehead. Buckles 1250-1800. pages 44-45. Diameter of buckle frame: 37.30 mm. Thickness: 2.28 mm. Weight: 6.226 grams.
