A copper-alloy Medieval Type A2 copper alloy purse bar dating to c AD 1450-c1500. The purse bar is incomplete as the end of each side-bar and pendent frame are lost. The purse bar comprises a rectangular section bar with an oval section collar each side of a central shield-shaped boss. One side of the boss has niello residue of a tau cross asnd the other, A. The side-bars on one side have the niello (some lost) reversed Lombardic partial uncertain inscription NON NIP, and [.] IN DEON, on the other. The purse bar is 86.31mm long, 52.94mm in width and 8.73mm in depth. The width of the pendent loop at the top is 27.19mm and 28.95mm from the bar to the top of the ring.
