Incomplete Early Saxon copper alloy Cruciform brooch. The top knob is slightly elongated and half-round, and the detachable side knobs are missing. The headplate is very narrow, consisting mainly of a panel flanked by slight wings. There are three worn and insubstantial ribs at the top of the D-sectioned bow, which is broken across a flattened central section. The lower part of the brooch is missing. Single pin-lug on reverse. Length 28mm. Width of bow 10mm. Width of bow at break 8.5mm. Weight 3.58g. c.450 - c.500 AD.
