Incomplete copper alloy buckle dating to the Post Medieval period. The buckle is a douple loop with one 'D' shaped loop either side of a central strap bar. The frame is 'D' shaped in section with a flat back and rounded upper face. The strap bar is circular in section. A triangular moulded knop sits at either end of the strap bar. The pin is missing. It measures 20.2mm in length, 16.3mm in width, 2.7mm in thickness and weighs 1.31g.
Whitehead (2003, pg. 54) illustrates similar examples, e.g. nos. 304 - 308, which he dates to between 1500 and 1650 AD.
