A complete silver thimble dating to the late eighteenth or nineteenth century which has been flattened at the open end. The thimble has a rounded top with a series of six concentric rings formed from machine-made oval indentations. The sides flare from the top to the open end. The top half of the sides are covered with a tight mesh of machine-made indentations below which are two incised lines. Below this is a border of very worn foliage decorated with machine hatching. The rim of the base is decorated with three incised lines. A similar thimble on the databade is YORYM-800494 and thimbles of similar design are found in McConnel's The Collector's Guide to Thimbles (1995) in the section on 19th century thimbles. The thimble is 19.09mm tall, 19.37mm in diameter and weighs 1.92g.

As this thimble is less than 300 years old it does not meet the requirements of the 1996 Treasure Act and has not been declared as potential Treasure.
