Rim sherd from a Medieval cooking pot, 13th to 14th century. The rim is outflaring and dished on the upper face to provide a seating for a lid with a turned out and rounded upper edge and a distinct carination on the inner side at the junction with the body. The fabric is reduced mig-grey with oxidised outer face and particularly heavily tempered with poorly sorted angular chert and limestone and sub-rounded red sandstone up to 3.5mm across. The sherd is abraded. The sherd weighs 17.29g, and is 9.8mm thick. Too little survives to estimate the vessel diameter.
