A tiny fragment of ceramic material, probably from a vessel. The fabric is soft, abraded and fine textured with some grit inclusions. It is orange in colour. Date unknown.
Notes:
Recovered from a test pit positioned to explore a dark linear feature running North to South, visible in the soil on aerial photographs. This artefact was in the fill of a V shaped ditch measuring 1.2m wide and 0.75m deep. There are at least 16 similar linear features visible, all running parallel to one another. The test pit was positioned over the 12th feature from the West. They were origially thought to be the result of ridge and furrow ploughing.
