A rim sherd from a large Roman ceramic vessel; greyware. The fabric is soft and irregular with frequent poorly sorted quartz, grit and mica inclusions. It is mid grey throughout. The rim has an internal diameter of 360mm. It is everted, forming a wide downward curving flange. The wall of the vessel is 9.7mm thick.
