A post-medieval button made from white metal, dating to the period c. AD 1700 - 1750. The loop is sub-circular in shape and is soldered to the main body of the button. The loop measures 5.09mm external diameter, 2.85mm internal diameter and is 1.99mm thick. The body of the button is sub-oval in shape with a slightly flattened line where the upper and lower hemispheres meet. The upper hemisphere features two circular holes, one on either side of the loop. A maker's mark is visible stamped next to the loop bearing the initials R G which stand for Robert Garrard.
