Two complete lead weights of uncertain date. Both weights are spherical with central perforations running through them and are undecorated.
Dimensions:
Weight 1: 19.5mm in diameter; Weight: 30.1g
Weight 2: 19.5mm in diameter; Weight: 24.1g.
Lead weights were commonly used from the Roman period through to the post-medieval period for a wide variety of uses and are difficult to date with any certainty without any supporting archaeological context. The function of such objects is also difficult to determine as the forms are common and may have served as spindle whorls or weights used for fishing or goods.
