Two fire-cracked cobbles; stones which have been subject to high heat causing them to crack, break and discolour to a pink hue. Similar objects from the same farm have been recorded as pot boilers, but it is also possible that these stones were used to form hearths, probably for an industrial process. The stone is probably a fine grained sandstone. One stone has much more regular features than the other.
