A complete lead object, probably a trail piece from a seal matrix impression of post-medieval date. The object is sub-circular and bears a faint circular impression which appears to feature a horse and rider approaching from the left of the seal on a finely pelleted background. Faint traces of a circumferential legend remain though can no longer be read. The reverse is flat and undecorated.
The metal is a shiny grey colour and survives in fair but worn condition. The object is 35.4mm in diameter, 4.3mm thick and weighs 30.6g.
