A Roman copper-alloy dolphin brooch, dating circa AD 70-150. The wings are semi-cylindrical in section and are decorated at each end with a single vertical groove. There is a rearward hook at the top, and a spring and bar behind the wings. The bow is comma shaped in profile and D-shaped in section. The front is decorated with a raised rib. The catchplate is intact and has a circular piercing.
