Enamelled cast copper alloy disc brooch with four lugs dating from the Roman period, that is from between c. AD100-250. The brooch is complete with hinge, foot and pin on the reverse. It is in very good condition. It has four lugs (top, bottom, left and right), two of which are perforated.The brooch is plain on the back and decorated with enamelled decoration on the obverse. The enamel was applied to small cells of rectangular and tear/petal shape. The enamel used was red, turquoise, blue and yellow: The centre and two of the trapezoidal cells were decorated with dark blue enamel, the other two with turquoise enamel while the petals were yellow. The background and inner circle were decorated with red enamel.
