Copper alloy and Glass Fob seal Matrix. Oval panel of transparent smoky yellow glass within a pressed metal gilded frame. The glass is engraved with the facing bust of a balding clean shaven man with sideburns wearing a cravatte or similar neckwear with a high collared garment; possibly with a buttoned shirt below. A six character legend in Roman capitals identifies this as BRIGHT, probably referring to Radical campaigner John Bright (1811-1889). This is the second signet bearing Bright's named image - NLM-9D36A6 being the first. Richard Cobden and John Bright were prominent in the campaign for repeal of the Corn Laws and other Radical causes. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1840-1880.

Length: 20.1mm, Width: 16.3mm, Thickness (frame - glass is less): 4.4mm, Weight: 2.85gms.
