Front part of a medieval gilt copper alloy rectangular buckle plate broken before the fold, with two rivet holes and a very small part of a pin slot or hole extant. Within a frame a lion passant reguardant is in high relief on a very finely engraved field. Very similar to Egan and Pritchard 1991, no. 500 whose image was produced by die-stamping. The image on the present example was produced in the same way. Extant length 28.7mm. Width 14.5mm. Thickness 2mm. c.1200 - c.1250.
