A incomplete, cast copper alloy buckle dating to the Post Medieval period. The buckle is double looped with an oval loop either side of the strap bar. The frame is 'D' shaped in section and the strap bar is circular. There are pointed knops at either end of the strap bar. The pin is missing and the remaining buckle has a dark brown patina. The buckle measures 27.6mm in length, 23.0mm in width, 1.8mm in thickness and weighs 2.2g.
Whitehead (2003, pg. 54) illustrates similar buckles, e.g. 304-307, which he dates to between 1500-1650 AD.
