Lead spindle whorl. Cast discoid whorl with central moulded aperture of diameter 9.8mm. The cylindrical form is unusual, with two entirely equal flat surfaces; incised vertical slashes run around the rim. Lightly patinated overall, with a coppery colour discernible beneath this coating, though probably only as a thin skin. Suggested date: Probably Post-Medieval, 1500-1600.
