A fragment of a cast copper alloy artefact, possibly a section of a sword belt fitting from a scabbard dating from the 16th or 17th century. It consists of a blunt hook, at one end of which is a hollow semi-circular moulding and a very short fragment of a flat plate above. There is no decoration. The fragment has a thin and patchy green patina. The object is probably part of the hooked plate that would have been attached to the scabbard and used to hand the scabbard from a matching plate on the belt.
