A complete copper-alloy hollow button of later post-medieval/ early modern date (c.1700-1800). It measures 24.73 in height and weighs 4.2g.
The object is spherical and made in two parts, with two hemispherical sections soldered together. A rim can be seen running around the middle of the object. There is a loop attached to one hemisphere with an internal measurement of 3.9mm. Below this are two sound holes,one measuring 2.69mm in diameter while the other hole has been slightly squashed and measures 3.5mm. There are patches of whilte-metal coating over the surface.
