A copper alloy Post-Medieval (1500-1700) hooked tag. It measures 29.79mm long, 12.42mm wide and weighs 1.94g.
It is sub-triangular in shape with a single blunt hook at the narrow end. It has the remains of two iron rivets, one at the centre of each end of the triangle.
Read suggests that this kind of hooked tag may have been from a sword-belt, used in tandem with a separate eye-section of similar design. Cf. Read, B, 2008, pp. 217.
