A cast copper-alloy strap clasp of Medieval date. It has an oval frame that is oval in cross-section with an offset and narrowed rectangular bar. Hinging around the bar is a separate attachment plate. This is rectangular in form with upper and lower plate of equal dimensions, rectangular frame recesses and central slot, and slightly concave attachment end. A single circular rivet hole is visible at the centre of the attachment end and holds in place a separately cast copper-alloy rivet with flattened round heads.

At the frame end, and hinging through the central rectangular slot of the plate, is a separately cast element. This is flat, semi-circular in form and with a short rectangular arm that folds around the bar of the frame. The clasp sits flat against the frame, covering half of its area. The entire object measures 17.85mm in width, 36.83mm in length, 4.67mm in thickness and 4.55g in weight.

This is a strap fitting of Medieval date. The semi-circular element hinged within the frame suggests that is functioned as a strap clasp or similar rather than a buckle. It is unusual, with the only close parallel from East Yorkshire ( FAKL-E98611). Its form suggests a Medieval date, perhaps c.14th-15th centuries AD.
